The 2000’s

  • 2022
    Fabrimex Systems AG expands its service competence and acquires the high-end technology service provider Greatcom AG and its core team.The existing product portfolio, production and repair center will be expanded with software, electronics and hardware development.Due to the increase in staff and the know-how of the experienced specialists, Fabrimex Systems offers comprehensive services in the field of engineering and project management – depending on customer needs and requirements.
  • 2015
    Fabrimex Systems joins the HDBaseT Alliance to promote, develop and standardize HDBaseT technology in the industrial sector.HDBaseT is an IEEE standard for the transmission of ultra-high definition video & audio, Ethernet, USB and up to 100W of power over a single Cat 6 cable. Over a distance of up to 100 meters, the power and quality of the transmission can thus be ensured by a single cable.We use this technology as an externally connectable solution for existing systems and retrofits as well as a built-in solution in our computers and monitors.

    The product portfolio of our own products is expanded and includes, in addition to existing displays and panel PCs made of high-quality and robust materials such as stainless steel and sheet metal, now also an aluminum series of panel PCs and displays that can be used in compliance with food regulations. The stainless steel series is also greatly expanded and made available up to 55 inch in sizes.
  • 2013
    Urs Zimmermann, longtime owner and director of Fabrimex System, hands over the business to Mrs. Graziella Spizzi, but continues to work for the company as chairman of the board.
  • 2010
    Start of cooperation with Congatec Germany for embedded computing (COM Express, Q7, XTX form factors).Our subsidiary in Taiwan opens their own manufacturing site in Kaohsiung and production starts according to our quality standards.
  • 2009
    Start of cooperation with SVS – VISTEK Germany for GigE – cameras in the industrial area.Contract with LANNER INC. Taiwan for compact industrial PC’s.
  • 2006
    5 years Fabrimex Far East in Taiwan.Successfully we supply industrial customers in and out of Europe directly from Taiwan.
  • 2005
    Splitting of the FABRIMEX AG into two legally independent companies.- FABRIMEX AG for power supplies- FABRIMEX SYSTEMS AG for industrial PCs and image processing
  • 2003
    Management buy out of the Business Unit ENERGY MANAGEMENT.
  • 2001
    Foundation of the FABRIMEX FAR EAST Ltd. in Taiwan for procurement in the IPC and display range and international distribution.

The 90’s 80’s and 70’s

  • 1998
    Start of serial production of industrial PCs for OEMs in Switzerland.
  • 1997
    Management buy out of the business unit SOLAR.
  • 1996
    Certification of our Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 standards.
  • 1994
    Relocation and concentration of all divisions in one location in Volketswil near Zurich. Establishing the Fabrimex GmbH in Gerstetten for the production of built-in power supplies.

    The change in the electronics business leads to the separation from the component distribution business through the sale to Electronic Spoerle. There is a concentration on the 4 business units:Solar

    further accomplished the transition from a pure trading company to a specialized engineering trading company.
  • 1990
    The steadily rising demand for power supplies from Germany leads to the founding of the subsidiary CAC-Fabrimex GmbH in Germany.
  • 1986
    The rise of computer systems leads to the strategic expansion in the area of systems through the representation for Datacube (USA), Xycom (USA) and Oettle Reichler OR (D).
  • 1982
    With the acquisition of Dr. Ing. K. Witmer Elektronik AG, the leading Swiss manufacturer of laboratory power supplies, the range of power supplies is expanded even further.
  • 1979
    In order to keep up with the current technology, the representation of ARCO-Solar (USA) started. The first step into photovoltaics has been made.
  • 1978
    Thanks to the strong demand, our own developed power supplies came to market in spring of 1978. In addition, export activities were further expanded, also due to the in-house developments.
  • 1974
    After the passing of his uncle, Urs Zimmermann takes the lead of the company.

The 50’s

  • 1955/56
    With the joint representative takeover of International Rectifier (USA) and Texas Instruments (USA), Fabrimex enters the electronics sector. This expansion of the representative portfolio makes Fabrimex one of the leading suppliers in the field of components distribution.

  • 1947
